To request a refund for a Postal Savings Bond (Buono Postale Fruttifero – BPF), a savings passbook, or an investment policy, you must download and complete the refund request form (downloadable from HERE) and the form to specify the payment method (downloadable from HERE). Please do not to sign the forms, as the signature must be done at the Consulate.
After signing the forms at the Consulate, the applicant must then send the request by registered mail to the following address:
Poste Italiane – Divisione Bancoposta – Direzione Operazioni Servizio Risparmi
Via di Torpagnotta 2 – 00143 Rome – Italy
enclosing the following:
- a copy of a valid identity document;
- a copy of the tax code (codice fiscale) issued by the Italian Revenue Agency or by a Consulate (those without one can request it by emailing perth.consolato@esteri.it);
- the original Postal Savings Bonds.
Before sending the documents to Italy, it is strongly recommended to keep a photocopy of the entire set of documents.
