TRANSLATIONS
The Consulate can only translate Western Australian driving licenses into Italian, as explained HERE.
For any other translation from Italian into English of documents to be enforced in Australia, it is necessary to contact a NAATI certified translator.
For any other translation from English into Italian of documents to be enforced in Italy, it is necessary to contact a sworn translator registered in the Register of the Chamber of Commerce or the relevant Court in Italy.
LEGALIZATIONS
The Consulate does NOT have the right to legalize Italian or Australian documents. Australian documents/certificates to be enforced in Italy must be legalized by affixing an apostille by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
Italian documents/certificates to be enforced in Australia must be legalized by affixing an apostille by the competent Prefecture for the area.

The situation is different if the affixing of a stamp of conformity is simply requested on the photocopy of a document or on the Italian translation of an Australian document. In this case it is sufficient to come to the Consulate without an appointment on Tuesdays or Thursdays between 10 and 12, bringing with you the original document and the photocopy/translation on which stamping is requested.
