Death

Registration in Italy of the death certificate of an Italian (or formerly Italian) citizen occurred abroad is very important. Such registration is important also because it prevents mailing of documents, communications or electoral material that would then be returned to sender and entail a declaration of untraceability.

All that is needed is for a family member to fill and send an email to perth.statocivile@esteri.it  attaching a plain copy of the death certificate. Alternatively, the certificate may be sent by post, addressed to Consulate of Italy Perth, P.O. Box 1894, West Perth WA 6872 (Australia).

The service is free of charge.
