How to obtain an Italian certificate

All personal data and civil status certificates (residence, birth, free status, marriage, divorce, death) must be requested by the directly interested parties not to this or other Consulates, but only to the competent Municipality in Italy, i.e. the one where the event was registered.

Alternatively, all Italian citizens who need personal certificates issued by the Municipalities (birth , marriage, free status, etc.) can obtain the former easily, quickly and free of charge by visiting https://www.anagrafenazionale.interno.it/ .
Access to this website is only possible with:
a) electronic identity card;
b) SPID credentials;
c) National Healthcare Card.

Please note that from 31 December 2025 it will be possible to access the web portal of the Italian Public Administration only via SPID. It is therefore recommended to acquire the SPID credentials as soon as possible. More information on the procedure is available at www.spid.gov.it.

The ANPR portal is not managed by the Consulate, therefore for any questions you should refer to the guide contained in the portal itself.
