Relinquishment

Italian citizens are allowed to relinquish their citizenship provided that:

1. they are above the age of 18;
2. they hold citizenship of another country (not necessarily Australia);
3. they have established their permanent residence out of Italy.

WA residents can start the process by emailing us on perth.cittadinanza@esteri.it.

The following documentation will have to be produced:

1. applicant’s birth certificate from the Municipality where the certificate was registered;
2. certificate of Italian citizenship;
3. documentation proving that the applicant holds a second citizenship;
4. documentation proving that the applicant is a permanent resident of WA;
5. Italian passport or equivalent photo ID;
6. receipt of a 200 Euro transfer to the following bank account:
