Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Western Australian Department of Education and the Consulate of Italy in Perth

Earlier today the Director General of the Department of Education, Sharyn O’Neill and Consul David Balloni signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Department and the Consulate of Italy in Perth.

The principle aim of the agreement is to favourably increase the number of students who study Italian in public secondary schools throughout the State by ensuring the ongoing delivery of Italian within the various education frameworks levels.

The signing of the Memorandum is part of a renewed strategy of accord that aims at encouraging the diffusion of Italian, the most studied foreign language in Western Australia currently being delivered to over 60,000 students.
