{"id":947,"date":"2019-05-24T09:01:03","date_gmt":"2019-05-24T07:01:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/consperth.esteri.it\/news\/dal_consolato\/2019\/05\/cittadinanza-per-matrimonio-novita-2\/"},"modified":"2019-05-24T09:01:03","modified_gmt":"2019-05-24T07:01:03","slug":"cittadinanza-per-matrimonio-novita-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/consperth.esteri.it\/en\/news\/dal_consolato\/2019\/05\/cittadinanza-per-matrimonio-novita-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Citizenship by marriage: update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As of 4th December 2018, legislation on the acquisition of Italian citizenship by marriage has been updated as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the fee to be paid has been increased to 250 euro;<\/li>\n<li>all applicants are required to exhibit a B1 or higher certificate of CEFR (<em>Common European Framework of Reference for languages<\/em>) for proficiency in Italian language;<\/li>\n<li>the time-frame for the process to be finalized by Italy\u2019s Ministry of Home Affairs has been extended to 4 years;<\/li>\n<li>once citizenship is granted and prior to swearing the oath of allegiance, all applicants are required to exhibit:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li>a <strong>recently issued National Police Certificate<\/strong> (for each of the countries of permanent residence since the application was lodged);<\/li>\n<li>a <strong>recently issued marriage certificate<\/strong>.
