access consular services under the emergency procedure, obtaining an extraordinary appointment earlier than the first available slot. For such requests, the applicant must pay, in addition to the standard service fee, the applicable priority fees. Emergency status must be justified by:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"489\" data-end=\"1033\">\n<li data-start=\"489\" data-end=\"594\">\n<p data-start=\"491\" data-end=\"594\">serious family or health reasons, certified by the appropriate public or private authorities or facilities;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"595\" data-end=\"895\">\n<p data-start=\"597\" data-end=\"895\">urgent and non-deferrable work requirements, proven by a motivated request signed by a person holding managerial duties (including the name, position and telephone number of the signatory), drafted on the employer\u2019s letterhead, and accompanied by proof of flight booking or other travel document;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"896\" data-end=\"1033\">\n<p data-start=\"898\" data-end=\"1033\">applications for australian visas, supported by evidence that the current Australian visa is about to expire (VEVO check).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1035\" data-end=\"1177\">Please note that \u2014 except in exceptional cases \u2014 the benefits of the emergency procedure cannot be extended to the applicant\u2019s family members.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1179\" data-end=\"1468\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">If the applicant is not registered with AIRE, the Office must in any case obtain the clearance\/authorisation (nulla osta\/delega) from the competent <em data-start=\"1327\" data-end=\"1337\">Questura<\/em> in Italy before issuing a passport.
