Qualifications obtained overseas are not automatically recognized in Italy. Certificates first need to be validated as equivalent to the corresponding Italian qualifications (i.e. Junior High School diploma, High School Education Certificate, University Degree, etc.).<\/p>\n

Applicants requiring validation of their qualifications obtained abroad (only from recognised institutions located in Western Australia<\/strong>) or university enrolment in Italy need to first obtain a document called \u201cvalidation of credentials\u201d (dichiarazione di valore in loco<\/em>) from this Consulate.<\/p>\n

Applicants aiming at University enrolment in Italy are highly recommended to confirm with their selected university regarding any specific requirements for entry.<\/p>\n

A validation of credentials is not<\/strong> an official recognition of any qualifications obtained but, once in Italy, it is indeed essential to obtain full recognition (equipollenza)<\/em> from Italy\u2019s Ministry of University and Research.<\/p>\n

Applications are lodged via email at perth.consolato@esteri.it by attaching the following:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. specific application form<\/strong><\/a>, to be carefully read and filled;<\/li>\n
  2. scan of degree or other qualification<\/strong>, apostillized by Perth’s DFAT<\/strong><\/a> and accompanied by a qualified translation into Italian (see reference HERE<\/strong><\/a>);<\/li>\n
  3. scan of statement of academic record<\/strong>, apostillized by Perth’s DFAT<\/strong><\/a> and accompanied by a qualified translation into Italian (see above);<\/li>\n
  4. scan of own passport<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    in order to successfully satisfy your request, please bear in mind that may be required at least one month<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

    For any validation to be released, it is essential to first<\/strong> submit the 4 documents mentioned above, as illustrated.<\/p>\n

    Electronic versions of all documents are for verification purposes only. On collection day, the validation will be handed over (to the applicant or an authorized representative holding a letter of authorization dated, signed and accompanied by a copy of the applicant’s photo ID with signature), or posted (at applicant\u2019s expense) only upon sighting the 4 documents above in either original version or notarized copy only.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The cost of a validation document is related to its destination and to the number of translations to be endorsed. Our current tariff list is available from HERE<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n
