{"id":596,"date":"2023-04-14T12:48:26","date_gmt":"2023-04-14T10:48:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/consperth.esteri.it\/?page_id=596"},"modified":"2024-02-25T12:53:34","modified_gmt":"2024-02-25T04:53:34","slug":"civil-union","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/consperth.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-italiano\/stato-civile\/civil-union\/","title":{"rendered":"Civil union"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pursuant to 2016 legislation, a same-sex civil union may equally be established out of Italy.<\/p>\n<p>Italian citizens resident in Western Australia intending to establish a same-sex civil union either at the Consulate or in Italy may lodge an application\u00a0 via email to perth.statocivile@esteri.it and attaching the following documentation:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>plain copy of their ID&#8217;s as well as those of the two witnesses and the interpreter (if any);<\/li>\n<li><em>Federal Police check,<\/em> issued by the Australian Federal Police;<\/li>\n<li><em>Result of Marriage Search or Single Status Certificate,<\/em> issued by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wa.gov.au\/organisation\/department-of-justice\/the-registry-of-births-deaths-and-marriages\"><strong>Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages<\/strong><\/a>, or by similar entity in their country of residence;<\/li>\n<li><strong><u>For foreign citizens:<\/u><\/strong> <em>Certificate of no impediment to marriage, issued by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dfat.gov.au\/about-us\/our-services\/apostilles-authentications-certificates-of-no-impediment-to-marriage\/Pages\/apostilles-authentications-and-certificates-of-no-impediment-to-marriage\"><strong>DFAT<\/strong><\/a>, <\/em>indicating the details of both parties;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/consperth.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/verbale-di-richiesta-di-costituzione-di-unione-civile-in-Consolato.docx\"><strong>application form<\/strong><\/a> for the establishment of the civil union at the Consulate; OR<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/consperth.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/verbale-di-richiesta-di-costituzione-di-unione-civile-in-Comune.docx\"><strong>application form<\/strong><\/a> for the establishment of the civil union in Italy.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Pursuant to 2016 legislation, a same-sex civil union may equally be established out of Italy.
