3rd Edition of the Italian Cuisine in the World / Official program

The Consulate of Italy is glad to attach below the official program of the 3rd Edition of the Italian Cuisine in the World. The aim of this initiative is to promote Italy’s culinary tradition all over the world as one of the most distinctive features of Brand Italy. The event intends to provide continuity to the themes successfully developed by Expo Milan 2015 and to highlight the role played by the Foreign Ministry’s diplomatic network. The initiative will take place in 100+ Countries with an agenda of 1,000+ events including conferences, tastings, thematic dinners, exhibitions on culinary themes and technical and scientific workshops.

The Italian Consulate in Perth is proud to present the following events:

18 November, 11am-3pm: World of Food Festival. Italian Stall. World of Food Festival is an annual event held at Government House Gardens where communities from around Perth come together to celebrate food. Italy will be represented by wood-fired pizza and gelato. There will be cultural performances from different communities and various activities for the kids. Entry is free.

21 November, from 6:45pm: Verdi’s Table. The Consulate of Italy and West Australian Opera present an exclusive event that combines the best of Italian food and Opera. La Sosta in Fremantle will host an exclusive 5 course dinner that showcases the flavours and music of the beloved Emilia-Romagna region, which is the birthplace of one of Opera’s most beloved Maestros – Giuseppe Verdi. Guests will enjoy a specially curated menu which celebrates the gastronomical highlights of the Emilia-Romagna region, while West Australian Opera’s Katja Webb and pianist Tommaso Pollio will perform a number of famous Verdi Arias throughout the evening.

22 November, 5:30-6pm: Prosecco masterclass @Stanley College, West Perth (*by invitation only). Let’s celebrate Prosecco on the UNESCO World Stage at an exclusive masterclass presented by renowned wine Ambassador Michael Tamburri.

22 November, 6-8pm: Italian bites @Stanley College, West Perth (*by invitation only). Taste with us Prosecco from the Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, parmigiano reggiano and prosciutto di Parma and celebrate the City of Parma, as a perfect candidate to be selected as the UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy in 2019.
